Tell us why, not what.
Clients often come to us with an assignment. We need a brochure. Videos. A new logo.
We can make those things. But Pear isn’t a job shop that takes an order, completes it and waits for the next one. We are a strategic marketing partner, and that means we need to understand why before we determine how.
The Assignment May Not Be the Answer
Before we create anything, we ask questions.
What are you trying to accomplish? What’s happening in your business and with your competitors? Who needs to take action? What have you tried before and what happened? What’s your budget?
Sometimes those answers confirm the original assignment. Sometimes they take us somewhere completely different.
You may ask for a brochure without having a good way to get it into the hands of the people you want to reach. You may tell us you want more social media followers without thinking about what you want those followers to know, do or think about your business. What you think you need may not be the marketing solution that gets you the results you want.
That’s why we don’t start with what you want us to make. We start with what you want to accomplish.
Nothing Happens by Accident
There should be a reason behind every marketing decision.
The audience influences the message. The goal influences the strategy. The budget influences the tactics. Even decisions about words, images, design and media should connect back to what you’re trying to accomplish.
That thought process is what makes Pear different. We don’t just make things. We think about what needs to be accomplished, who we’re talking to and the best way to deliver the message.
