Use great photos or you’re sunk.
Great photography is one of the best investments you can make in your marketing. If the images aren’t good, great design and writing can’t save it.
Photos First
When we start working with a new client, photography is almost always near the top of our list when we prioritize how to invest a budget. We think about all the ways the photos can be used so clients get multiple projects from a single photo shoot. Shoot once. Use often.
Why Professional Photos Matter
People notice images before they read the words and will move on if an image doesn’t capture their attention. We can design a beautiful website. Create an effective ad. But if the photos are bad, the entire piece suffers and won’t achieve your goal.
A professional photographer thinks about lighting, composition, backgrounds and the little details most of us don’t notice until they’re wrong.
Photographers also shoot with the final use in mind, giving us options that work for everything from a billboard to a social post. Photos taken with your phone typically don’t have the resolution needed for commercial use.
There’s also something intentional about investing in a professional photoshoot. Everybody knows the photos matter. Employees dress for picture day and look their best. The environment is tidy and photo ready. There’s a level of care that doesn’t happen when you just grab your phone and get what you get.
Before you spend money creating more marketing materials, take a good look at the photos you have.
